Sips & Self Care -- My First Private Event Blending Facials & Mimosas
Since the beginning of this year I've been very adamant to my clients, those who personally know me and follow my social media that it's time for SELF CARE. I didn't want to advertise it as some sort of "new years resolution" but more as a movement. I believe it's imperative for us learn how to redirect some of the energy we withdraw attending to the needs of other people. Although I can't negate that selflessness is a great quality of character to possess, it can also be toxic. Also, why do we usually wait until we're sick and tired of everyone and everything to take care of us? We've got to be more kind to ourselves.
I often hear the quote "create a life you don't have to escape from", which I agree with to an extent. If you make a habit out of doing something that truly fulfills you or makes you happy, then you'll never have to worry about that. Whatever it is that's going to make you feel good whether it's reading a book, working out, having dinner alone (or getting a facial), it doesn't matter...DO IT. Create that balance in your life.
To anyone who has a partner, is a parent, has a full-time job, going to school or all of the above please remember this: IT’S OKAY TO BE SELFISH. Taking time for yourself is nothing to be guilty of. We only live this life once so why not hold ourselves accountable to treating our minds, bodies, and spirits right. That’s why I’ve decided to make myself available and provide an outlet for everyone to do so. When I first began Elevated Aesthetics the idea was to not only have clients visit me at my spa, but I wanted also branch myself out and host events/workshops. I’m a very social person and I loved the idea of gathering people in a space where they could kick it, enjoy the company of others, share conversations about skin and beauty while getting pampered at the same time.
I officially hosted my first workshop in collaboration with Chic Deetz who has an immaculate eye for detail and who I give the credit to for designing the creative and beautiful setup *SIDE BAR: You should HIGHLY consider visiting their page for inspo on interior decor, DIY projects and trend alerts!* A post will be shared there as well about this event and their perspective on self-care.
DETAILS OF THE EVENT
I offered limited services that were 30-minutes each including mini facials, microdermbrasion, and dermaplaning treatments. I allowed each guest to select one of the three options. I did offer waxing services as well but everyone was excited about getting their faces done (no complaints here!). I provided basic skin tips along with answers to any questions they may have had in the realm of esthetics. It made me excited hearing everyone talk amongst themselves about their regimens, products they use, like, and don't like.
I look forward to hosting many more of these events/workshops. Please contact me if you think you'd be interested in me going out to your home and hosting your own personalized facial party!
